The trim lineup for the Nissan Altima was streamlined for the 2026 model year. This year's Altima is available in two core trim levels: SV and SR. The base S and the highest SL trims were discontinued for this year. However, Nissan also added two special variants to the lineup, which are the SV Special Edition and the SR Midnight Edition.

Trim Level 01
Nissan Altima SV
The SV trim is the entry point for this stylish four-door sedan. Nissan has packed the SV with everyday convenience features and technology that buyers have come to expect from the brand. It's powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired with an Xtronic CVT. The engine delivers an EPA-estimated 26 MPG in city driving and 36 MPG on the highway (on front-wheel drive models).
The SV comes standard with an elevated 8-inch color touchscreen that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The driver also gets a 7-inch Advanced Drive-Assist Display in the instrument cluster to keep track of vehicle stats.
The SV is also loaded with safety technology. The Nissan Safety Shield 360 suite is included. That comes with automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, and rear automatic braking. All these safety features are standard and cost nothing extra.

Nissan Altima SV Special Edition
The all-new SV Special Edition steps up the technology and luxury features. The Special Edition builds on the standard SV foundation and adds premium convenience features that will make family road trips more enjoyable.
The biggest tech upgrade in the Special Edition is the larger 12.3-inch infotainment display screen. It comes with a wireless phone charging pad. A dual-zone climate control system and a power sliding glass moonroof are also added to the mix.
On the outside, the SV Special Edition has some distinctive features that really make it stand out. These include 17-inch gloss-black alloy wheels and a rear spoiler. Plus, it has body-colored side mirrors with integrated LED turn signals.

Nissan Altima SR
If you want a more engaging experience behind the wheel, the 2026 Nissan Altima SR is built with athletic styling and performance tuning. The SR swaps out the standard suspension for a sport-tuned one and adds stiffer chassis components. You'll definitely feel the difference behind the wheel when handling tight corners and highway ramps.
The exterior of the SR looks much more aggressive with 19-inch machine-finished alloy wheels. It also has a dark chrome V-Motion grille, unique exhaust finishers, and black side mirrors. That sporty theme continues in the SR's interior, where you'll find sport cloth seat trim and red contrast stitching on the dashboard.
The steering wheel has mounted paddle shifters. The SR comes standard with the larger 12.3-inch touchscreen. Nissan's ProPilot Assist is also bundled in, which helps manage steering and braking on the highway.

Nissan Altima SR Midnight Edition
The SR Midnight Edition sits at the top of the 2026 Altima lineup. This edition takes the athletic attitude of the standard SR and gives it a factory-customized look. It has a blacked-out aesthetic that looks different from anything else in the Altima stable. It's specifically designed for buyers who want a sedan with a more upscale appearance on the road.
The Midnight Edition replaces almost all exterior chrome with deep gloss-black accents. It comes with exclusive 19-inch gloss-black aluminum alloy wheels. Plus, it has a blacked-out V-Motion grille, a black rear spoiler, and unique Midnight Edition exterior badging.
The interior matches the moody exterior with premium seating materials and exclusive dark trim accents. The car retains all the performance and technology upgrades from the standard SR. The Midnight Edition is the ultimate combination of style and handling for the 2026 model year.
Cabin Comfort and Cargo Space
The different trim levels and special editions change the technology and exterior styling of each version. One thing they share in common is the same spacious cabin layout.
